General Contracting has been a traditional method for providing clients with a Stipulated Lump Sum price still used today. In this approach the client retains their consultant team who prepare a complete set of contract documents which will be used by General Contractors in the preparation of their Stipulated Price. Although the client feels there is a greater level of price protection there are still inherit risks and exposure from a price, quality and schedule perspective with this approach. The experienced staff at The Pentacon Group, apply their proven principles to minimize these risks, where uncertainty and ambiguity in the drawings are identified and requests for information provided for further clarification. The use of highly competitive, high quality subcontractors are utilized and lastly identifying any critical areas that may have an impact the project schedule. The first step in planning, designing and constructing a project requires a series of pre-site assessments and data collection tests to determine the existing conditions of the site. At The Pentacon Group, we not only obtain information through research of existing documents, but also walk on site to determine the quality assurance of the existing premises and provide clear, concise reports for action.
